I was named after Bernard Sperling. His parents were neighbors of my parents in Middle Village Queens and were very kind to them. I was born in November of 1944, just a few months after my namesake's death at Omaha beach. I obviously never met him, but I remember as a child meeting his parents and Honored by Bernard Weinstein [2015-08-21 15:16:00] |
