This hero was a cousin I never met. I am aware of family details, but they are private. I try to post a picture on Facebook in his honor every D-Day remembrance day.

PFC Joseph M. Bercholz was from Shamokin, PA and died on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. He immigrated to the US from Poland when his parents died in 1922 to live with his sister and died at the age of 33 we believe. He was a member of the 16th Infantry Regiment. We are very proud of his service bot
